“Buy Black Art”

"Buy Black Art" is my third painting from my "Sketch Series" and is inspired by wanting to showcase the importance of owning black art as an African American especially in today's time. Owning Black Art is just not about having a piece of work to hang but for a lot of us acts as a tool of healing, often times we are able to see our purpose or gain a new found understanding of who we are through these pieces. In a time like this where our history is being wiped away its important for us to have as many artifacts that show recognition to who we truly are.
