"Nam Ain't No Place For A Black Man" is about Black Vietnam War Veterans who were drafted or decided to join the military during segregation and the Jim Crow era but talks about how pre and post war they were never given the proper resources or information to know fully what they were signing up for. Most vets didn't receive medical attention during the war and many had post war struggles with substance abuse and PTSD they picked up during service with no guidance or resources on how to navigate those struggles. Then were thrown back in a country that hates you for your skin color.
